About the NewCottage
Balaton Cottage is formed by two connected wings. The left wing—around 200 years old—was built in the same era and spirit as the Old Cottage and originally served as a wine cellar, storing over 800 liters of wine. Decades ago both roofs were thatched; to improve comfort, a new section was added about 35 years ago, and the two parts were opened up into one home.
In 2024–2025, the house underwent a comprehensive renovation, preserving its heritage while future‑proofing it. It now features an elegant tiled roof and a completely reimagined kitchen. Above the kitchen, we created a loft bedroom with a 160×200 bed, where you can stargaze at night, with full blackout available when needed.
The former cellar features reclaimed brick flooring and three graceful arches. This atmospheric dining space hosts a 2.5‑meter solid oak dining table and four new wine barrels—perfect for shared meals and get‑togethers.
From the kitchen, you step into the living room, with a generous Natuzzi sofa and a 65″ TV. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a separate toilet. The master has a 180×200 bed and a 55″ TV, while the second bedroom offers two 90×180 beds.
Outside, the covered terrace stretches behind the arches, offering shelter in bad weather. A large rattan lounge set comfortably seats a crowd. All rooms (except the dining room) are air‑conditioned; heating and cooling are primarily provided by the AC units.
